Great Racing On Show As Record Falls At Motor Festical

ON A DAY WHEN another chapter in Bathurst’s lap record chase was written, the Bathurst Motor Festival has delivered a packed day of on-track action at Mount Panorama.

18-year-old Formula 3 rookie Chris Anthony, from Cooma in the New South Wales' Snowy Mountains, won today’s Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship race and re-set the famous Bathurst outright lap record for the second time this year, going fractionally quicker than kiwi Shane van Gisbergen’s benchmark set during the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

AN 18-year-old kid from Cooma, the gateway to the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, is the latest winner at Bathurst. The fact he scored a new outright lap record at Mount Panorama was just an additional bonus.

Chris Anthony joined the elite list of winners at Australia’s most famous circuit today when he dominated the opening race at round three of the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship.

PRACTICE & QUALIFYING COMPLETE ON A GOOD BATHURST FRIDAY

A GOOD FRIDAY with near-perfect weather has seen practice and qualifying completed at the Bathurst Motor Festival at the start of the Easter long weekend.

Seven different classes of racing and regularity competitors took to the Mountain today, ahead of race competition commencing tomorrow morning and carrying through until Easter Sunday concludes.

A host of significant national-level drivers are featuring at the Festival this weekend, with several notable competitors using the weekend to gain rare laps at Mount Panorama.

TEENAGE TEARAWAYS SET FOR BATHURST DEBUTS

WHILE THE BATHURST Motor Festival showcases an incredibly diverse array of cars and drivers across the 332 entrants received for the Event, it is a group of teenagers who will be perhaps the most excited for the coming long weekend.

A group of incredibly talented youthful young drivers from around Australia will get their first laps of the famous Mount Panorama circuit at the Festival this Easter.
