PACKED PROGRAM SET FOR 2015 BATHURST MOTOR FESTIVAL

THE FULL race program for the 2015 Bathurst Motor Festival has been confirmed.

Once again a bumper line up of seven categories representing a broad cross-section of Australian Motorsport’s past and present will take to Mount Panorama across the Easter long weekend next year.

The debut of the Heritage Touring Cars at the Motor Festival will likely attract plenty of interest, category organisers have already confirmed they have secured a full grid of 55-cars from the classic Group C and A eras of Australian Touring Car Racing.

The ‘Legends of Bathurst’ return to Mount Panorama with full 55-car field

THE Heritage Touring Cars series has been confirmed as part of the program for the 2015 Bathurst Motor Festival at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.

The Historic category – featuring Group C and A Touring Cars made famous by their deeds at the world-class circuit in the annual October classic – is making a return to the Mountain for the first time since it competed at the 2011 Bathurst 12 Hour.

ON A DAY WHEN another chapter in Bathurst’s lap record chase was written, the Bathurst Motor Festival has delivered a packed day of on-track action at Mount Panorama.

18-year-old Formula 3 rookie Chris Anthony, from Cooma in the New South Wales' Snowy Mountains, won today’s Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship race and re-set the famous Bathurst outright lap record for the second time this year, going fractionally quicker than kiwi Shane van Gisbergen’s benchmark set during the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

F3: Anthony Wins For Cooma, Lap Record a Bonus

AN 18-year-old kid from Cooma, the gateway to the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, is the latest winner at Bathurst. The fact he scored a new outright lap record at Mount Panorama was just an additional bonus.

Chris Anthony joined the elite list of winners at Australia’s most famous circuit today when he dominated the opening race at round three of the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship.
